Terry Whittaker

Terry Whittaker

Terry was born in Forest Gate, London and is Married to Jo.  They have three children and two greyhounds and have lived in Rainham for 23 years.  He had a career in the Insurance industry in London for over 30 years finally heading up the European Operations outside of London for a global insurance company.  He then took on the operational management of the Detling Summer Celebration, founded a Pioneer Ministry in Gillingham and was licensed as a Lay Worker and also licensed to the Deanery to take funerals.  He was Church Warden at St Marks Gillingham for 13 years before the period of Pioneer Ministry and then moving to St Margarets.  He was involved in School Governance until recently, having terms as Chair of Governors for both Rainham Mark Grammar School and Twydall Primary School as well as being the first Chairman of the Rainham Mark Education Trust with responsibility for Riverside Primary school in addition to the above.  He was also licensed as Chaplain to Medway Police and studied for a Diploma in Practical Theology.  He is a pension trustee for his former employers pension trust and a director of the company that was formed by the owners of the apartments in Cornwall.

Terry enjoys family time, walking his dogs, cooking of all sorts but especially with the BBQ.  He has a caravan near Bexhill and an apartment in Cornwall and loves spending time at both.  He loves to fish and is an enthusiastic but mediocre golfer and following his recent house move has a growing interest in his garden.
