St Margaret’s church is one of the finest buildings in the Medway Towns and contains many unique features. Being a medieval building, it does however need continual upkeep and repair both internally and externally. Unlike many historical sites in England this church receives no direct financial support from the government, nor does it have recourse to any funding from within the Church Of England.
WHO ARE THE FRIENDS
AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
The Friends of St Margaret’s Church was established in 1978. Its only aim is the restoration, preservation, repair, maintenance, improvement and beautification of the building and its grounds. The Friends are a diverse group of people who share in this common goal and want to ensure that this wonderful heritage and important landmark is passed on to future generations. An open door is offered to all, irrespective of any religious faith or not.
