Heritage Open morning

Heritage Open Morning – Saturday 11th April, 10am -12pm: The beautiful church of St Margaret’s holds over 800 years of history behind its medieval doors! We’ll be open all morning to showcase some of our heritage, with knowledgeable guides and hosts on hand to tell you all about the heritage in our town. Drop in and discover something amazing! No charge, all welcome.

Good Friday

Church open from 12noon until 2pm for quiet reflection. Good Friday service at 2pm. One hour at the Cross, including Olivet to Calvary, with choir, no communion.

The Way of the Cross

A time of reflection on the various stages in Christ’s journey to his crucifixion on the cross, through projected images.  The service will last about an hour.

The church currently has three small groups which meet weekly. These are belonging groups where we look out for each other, share, look at the Bible or a theme and just spend time together. They are a great opportunity to get to know a group of people, socialise and have some fun too. Our current groups meet on a Monday Evening at someone’s home, a Tuesday late morning in church and a Thursday afternoon in someone’s home. We appreciate that…

Live streaming of the installation of the new Archbishop of Canterbury

The installation of the new Archbishop of Canterbury, The Rt Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally DBE will take place on Wednesday 25th March in Canterbury Cathedral, and will be live-streamed in the church on the large screen from 2:30pm. The broadcast will last approximately two hours. Please feel free to join us at any time. Tea and coffee will be available.

Mothering Sunday is a day to celebrate the love and care of all who have a mothering role. A day to return to your “Mother” Church – the church where you were baptised. This is a service with a mixture of traditional hymns and modern song.

Ash Wednesday Service

This special occasion marks the beginning of Lent and provides an opportunity for reflection, prayer and spiritual renewal. During the Ash Wednesday service worshippers will receive a mark of ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a cross. The ashes, made from burnt palms of the previous year’s Palm Sunday, symbolise mortality and penitence.

252 Kids Christmas Party!

252 Kids Christmas Party, 10:20 in The Millennium Centre TWO FIVE TWO KIDS (The name is linked with the Bible verse – Luke 2:52) 252 Kids is our Sunday morning group for school aged children. Years R to 6. The session helps the children grow in wisdom, faith and friendship through a variety of well-planned and fun activities. Parents/Carers are welcome to stay for a taster session if they wish and support their children to settle in.

Beer & Carols 2025

Join us for one of Rainham’s favourite festive nights out! Expect mince pies, beer, and a good old-fashioned singalong of Christmas carols, led this year by four professional singers around the piano. It’s free to come along, but tickets are required as places are limited. Maximum 5 tickets per person. Last year was packed and tickets went fast – so don’t miss your chance!
