Job Title: Sessional Youth Group Leader
Location: St. Margaret’s Church, Rainham
Hours: 3 hours weekly Term time only
Starting: ASAP
Salary: £45 per session
Main Purpose of the Role:
Preparing and delivering a varied programme of activities for young people who attend XP3, which meets on a Monday evening, and is a group for secondary school-aged young people. It meets during term time from 7 – 8.30 pm.
XP3 stands for the three experiences we hope every young person will discover with us:

The successful candidate will need to be a practising Christian.
What you will be doing:
- Enabling young people to develop holistically, working with them to facilitate personal, social and educational development. This is to enable them to develop their voice, personal, social and educational development.
• Providing pastoral support for young people and, if appropriate, signposting them to
professional help.
- Building a person-centred relationships to engage with young people to promote their social, emotional, and personal development.
- Undertaking administrative work as required in respect the Youth Club, including producing risk assessments for activities both within and outside the church.
- Liaising with the Children & Families Leader, particularly with regard to programme and group transition.
Skills and experience:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, such as communication, empathy and active listening
- The ability to work with others and connect with people from all backgrounds
- The ability to be flexible and adaptable
- A proven experience in working with young people
- Showing commitment to young people, the capacity to build relationships and offer guidance.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
When and where you will be doing it:
You will be working in St. Margaret’s Church, Rainham. There will be occasional outdoor activities.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) requirements:
You will require an Enhanced DBS check and barred list.
Training requirements:
Safeguarding: Basic awareness, Foundation, Leadership, Domestic Abuse.
Other relevant training as required, ensuring all activities are in line with good safeguarding and health and safety policies and procedures.
