As 2024 draws to a close, the Just Say Hello food project reflects on a year that has been in equal parts heartbreaking and heartwarming.
Our community fridge and larder continues to run twice weekly, supporting over 50 families each week. Beyond food, we also offer a warm, safe space, a hot cup of tea, and a listening ear.
We continue to provide emergency food support and have had the privilege of collaborating with vital local agencies to guide visitors to the further assistance they need.
We’ve welcomed new volunteers while saying goodbye to some old friends.
We are proud to have provided over 230 local people with Christmas hampers, ensuring they could enjoy a festive meal this year.
Each month, we have saved an average of 300kg of food from landfill, redistributing it through our community larder.
None of this would have been possible without our incredible team of dedicated volunteers who give so much of their time and effort, as well as the generous donations from our community and local businesses.
As we step into 2025, we extend our heartfelt thanks to you all and wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year.
