An umbrella organisation to bring people together locally to tackle the global environmental crisis. Rainham Eco Hub was founded by Liz and Kayleigh in March 2020. This came about after discussions in the community of Rainham, around the grass verges that were being left to grow and the encouraging comments about the positive effects this would have on our local wildlife, also the increase in PPE since the start of the pandemic, and the amount that was left discarded in our town. The Hub was formed online, and started very quickly to build the community of like-minded people that cared about the environment and wanted to actively make some changes. We saw many of you doing litter picks on your daily walks, children making bug hotels and bird feeders.

We’ve been keeping a huge secret, and we can finally announce that the incredible founder of The Rainham Eco Hub is being awarded a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) for services to the environment and to sustainability in Rainham.
We want to take this opportunity to say Thanks to Liz for all her hard work and her vision and drive, for which none of this work in Rainham would have even been possible. We are incredibly proud of you and will be cheering you on. Bring us back something nice from the palace.
