Retirement of Rev’d Jonathan Jennings

Retirement of Rev’d Jonathan Jennings

This month we mark the retirement of Revd Jonathan Jennings, who has faithfully served at St Margaret’s Church in various roles over many years. Jonathan’s thoughtful ministry, gentle wisdom, and deep commitment to the life of our church have left a lasting legacy. As a parting gift, Jonathan has generously presented the church with a green burse and veil, along with a stole beautifully embroidered with St Cuthbert’s cross. This is a deeply meaningful and symbolic gift, and we are honoured to receive it. It will be treasured and used in our worship for years to come. We give thanks to God for Jonathan’s ministry among us and pray for him and his family as he enters this new chapter of life and ministry.

A message from Jonathan:

Dear friends, Thank you so much for your kindness, cards, thoughts and prayers … and cake last weekend to mark my retirement. And your kind and thoughtful gifts – a superb pair of binoculars and a table tennis bat amongst them, and vouchers relating to a steam railway weekend! It was a wonderful occasion, and I was so pleased to see old and new friends from St Margaret’s. I’ve had wonderful years here; it’s been a privilege to minister amongst you and I will miss it immensely, especially as the future unfolds for our church. With my prayers and best wishes to you all Jonathan.
