Welcome to St Margaret’s Church, Rainham. We are a Church of England church that welcomes everyone, from families and children to young people and those from our local school communities. We want parents to feel relaxed knowing that their children are welcome here, whether it’s during a service, at one of our groups, or simply visiting.
For over 800 years, St Margaret’s has been serving the local community, and we continue that mission today with the same passion as those who built the first church on this site. Our church is a place where you and your family can belong, grow, and explore your faith together.
Our website provides all the information you need about the life of the church, from services and events to our involvement in the wider community, arts, heritage, and environmental work. Whether you’re here for worship, community activities, or to learn more about the rich history of our church, we hope you feel at home.
Our vision is to grow spiritually, transformationally, and numerically. We want to support you and your children as you grow in your faith. We seek to transform the communities in which we live and work, and as we do so, we believe our church family will naturally grow larger, welcoming more people into our community.
We also strive to be an inclusive church. We celebrate and affirm every person and stand against discrimination in all its forms. Whether on the grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality, we challenge the church to do better and love more fully.
St Margaret’s is a place where all people – children, parents, young people, and adults alike – can experience the love of Christ, proclaimed afresh for each generation, in a welcoming and supportive environment. We believe in a church that serves everyone in the name of Jesus Christ and is faithful to scripture, led by the Holy Spirit in sharing the boundless love of Christ.
We look forward to welcoming you and your family to St Margaret’s.
